The two bombs never made it to the United States thanks to authorities in Dubai security and to security in England who where advised by Dubai officials to take a second look.
According to Associated Press President Barack Obama's counter-terrorism adviser, John Brennan called the bomb attempt a very sophisticated device. He makes this statement in light of how the device was constructed and how it was concealed. It was one of two powerful bombs. One nearly slipped past investigators even after confirmation of their existence. The way the attempted attack was concealed proves how sophisticated terrorist al-Qaida bomb can escape notice. They were close to getting the explosive airborne and bound for the United States. It is unclear though if the target was the Synagogues.
It was reported through intelligence officials that a pair of explosive packages on planes in England and the United Arab Emirates early Friday morning. A six hour sweep of the cargo aboard a plane at the East Midlands airport in Central England found nothing. Which is more than likely why coming from the Leicester-shirepolice in England removed their security perimeter sending mixed messages. When intelligence officials were tipped off to the pair of explosive bombs, later on Friday evening the Leicester-shire police handed control of the investigation to the Metropolitan Police, the London based agency also known as Scotland Yard.
Gregory Katz gave this report from London. British aviation safety consultant Chris Yates said that British police removed their security perimeter they had in place while authorities urged them to take another look. Due to the fact that officials in Dubai which is one of the seven emirates located on the Arabian Peninsula, said they found a bomb disguised as a computer printer cartridge. The two bombs never made it to the United States thanks to authorities in Dubai security and to security in England who where advised by Dubai officials to take a second look.
